A glowing review for the Bondage Boutique collection at Lovehoney – Here’s what you need to know

My first thought upon unpacking the entire collection was the hygiene efforts Love Honey have gone to, which is certainly what you want to see with a ball gag in particular.
With the faux white leather strap neatly aligned, it meets the silicone ball in the middle, which came wrapped in a plastic bag to ensure that no debris or germs were to enter my mouth should I have immediately wanted to put it on and embrace the sub side in me.
Being a fan of BDSM I’m no stranger to ball gags, and I have to say I love this one for two reasons. The first is that it isn’t overly big, which is often a common complaint for beginners in particular who may be looking to experiment and can be put off with an aching jaw and a pool of drool after 20 seconds of wearing it.
The second is that the strap was comfortable and easy to use. The fact it glows in the dark just makes it all the more a fantastic ball gag!
I already have a collar and lead, so thought I knew what to expect with this. I was however very pleasantly surprised.
When I was first getting into BDSM I opted for a soft collar, which upon reflection is more like a neck brace than it is a sultry item of bondage wear. The Bondage Boutique collar is fairly thin, so looks a lot more sexy as opposed to looking like you’ve got whiplash.
Although with the way my boyfriend positively responded to me wearing this, I might be needing the other collar after a vigorous session of bondage….
The handle fits perfectly in your hand, and the chain is sturdy enough for as much as your dominant partner wants to put into it. Also, the collar is adjustable and easy to fine-tune with a buckle and 7 holes, encompassing a total 20.5 inches of sizing. Perfect!
I could’ve kicked myself that I’ve never bought a paddle before. With a satisfying sound, the pain is actually not bad at all, so it’s not a ‘sting’ as it is more of a dull slap, with a super satisfying sound able to be obtained from using little strength.
Like a kinky Wii remote, my boyfriend wrapped the soft loop round his hand and paddled away. The glow in the dark feature made this easy to find with the lights down too….
A flogger is another type of BDSM toy that I’d never considered adding to my ever-expanding collection. With a cool black and white grip, safety loop and overall light feel, it’s certainly great for beginners to get used to (as there isn’t so much weight behind it that every spank turns into an actual punishment).
I’ll be honest, I prefer the ‘whack’ of the paddle to the ‘spank’ style of the flogger, but I’ve not resigned myself to never taking a flogging. Perhaps my boyfriend would be interested in both at the same time. A question for another day perhaps!
Having been using a free in-flight sleeping mask as a makeshift blind fold, I couldn’t have been happier to receive one as part of the kit.
If I had to be really picky I’d say it’s a little too rigid, but then again I haven’t used it a lot so I’d imagine it softens over time. Other than that, the strap at the back is super comfortable and there was no awkward readjusting once sexy time had commenced!
Finally we have the wrist cuffs. These caught my eye immediately as they just look so satisfying. The white colouring really does glow in the dark, and the cuffs are easy to both put on and take off.
Combined with the collar, this looks like an incredible bedroom set when worn together. The lobster clips are also sturdy enough to be pulled on with your hands behind your back. Just saying…
Final Thoughts
Other than the one tiny point with the mask, I’d say that the Bondage Boutique collection has really hit it out of the park. It’s made well, isn’t intimidating for beginners, and the glow in the dark addition really gives the collection its edge.
